Learning for Life Campus – January stories

Learning for Life – January stories

Thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting your children with our fantastic Remote Learning curriculum throughout the past couple of weeks!

It was lovely seeing yourselves, and them again and sharing all their stories from the holidays!

Why are keyworkers important?

Watson Class focused on citizenship and why keyworkers are so important. What a great poster by Y’shua supporting this! #learning4life #community #Enfield

Great effort by our KS5 students who attempted Mr Gibson’s Tower Challenge #learning4life #blendedlearning

Students sure have been busy baking! Don’t the shortcake biscuits just look ever so tasty and presentable. This is  a part of their life skills – learning and also getting creative whilst salt painting.

Covid-19 proves to be no barrier for Jodi-Ann

Jodi-Ann along with the entire 2019 Supported Internship cohort have not had it easy! Being hit with a global pandemic at a very important time in their lives was the last thing anyone wanted. It meant that many had to re-enrol in 2020 and start their year all over again. For Jodi-Ann it meant that she lost her initial placement in London. However, she was matched to a role that was being considered by the team at McGoughlin Decorating Ltd and her progress since then has been incredible. Thanks to a very supportive and professional team at McGoughlin Decorating she has gone from strength to strength and has since signed her first contract of employment!

“We are delighted to welcome Jodi-Ann Forrester to McLoughlin Decorating Ltd, part of McLoughlin Group Holdings, as a permanent member of our team. Jodi-Ann displayed a can do attitude and gave 100% commitment to everything that was asked of her. Her contribution and effort over the last 3 months have made such a massive impact to the team’s workload, it was a no brainer for us to offer her employment,” says Toni, the Office Manager.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Toni, Kevin and the rest of the team at McGoughlin as well as everyone that has played a part in Jodi-Ann’s development. Congratulations Jodi-Ann!

Everybody at McLoughlin Decorating and West Lea School would like to wish Jodi-Ann every success in her future career.

McLoughlin Group is an Enfield based, family run business specialising in painting and decorating.  They have a fantastic reputation within the construction industry and have received accolades for their work on the Olympic Park, London Underground and The Savoy Hotel to name just a few.

Please note that masks were removed for photos, after all staff had tested negative from their lateral flow tests.

Fun with Joe Wicks

What a great way to start the day. Eren enjoyed taking part in the Joe Wicks workout.

Circuit Hits

Students gave one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This was a fun and energetic practical session – and a much needed fitness class after the Christmas break!

We finally had a snow day.

Eren enjoyed making a snow girl when we had a little snow. He really enjoyed making it and was very proud to have placed the carrot for the nose.

Dutoit Class students have been busy making these rooms out of recyclable materials. How amazing do they look? #art #loveart #talented #artkids ?

Staff at the Learning for Life have been trained and fully equipped to carry out mass testing twice a week. Well done team. #teamwork #masstesting #learning4life
