Haselbury Campus – April Stories

Thank You!

Julie (SALT) and Mrs. Taylor would like to say a big thank you to all the staff, parents and pupils who helped make the Speech and Language sessions both possible and successful during this difficult time. Thank you for your support and (many times) your patience! The technology hasn’t always been able to cope, but we have! Thank you again!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you in person soon in the summer term. Stay well,

Speech and Language team

Narita Class have been spending #AutismAwarenessWeek2021 doing a project on the fantastic Tom Stoltman – here they are practicing the Atlas Stones! Thank you @stoltman_tom

for being such an inspiration and phenomenal role model for our pupils! #AutismAwareness #AutismAcceptance

Happy #EarthDay2021 from Brannigan Class and all at West Lea School!

Sanchez Class did an amazing job making and selling bracelets for their Enterprise Business Project.

This term Sanchez Class’s Learning for Life lesson was on plants. Pupils followed their sequence of planting a bean from last week’s lesson and then planted their own beans following these steps independently.

Pupils measured and kept a weekly growth chart of how the bean grows and watering their plants when needed.

Student’s have been carrying out practical measuring lessons in Numeracy. Pupils weighed powder in grams using a scale, pupils measured water using a measuring jug in mls and pupils used a spoon and cup to measure non-metric measurements following a recipe.
