Independent Travel Training (ITT)

“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.”
– Seneca

Learners are supported by specialist travel trainers who help them to journey independently.

Working one to one, learners develop the skills and confidence to travel between key destinations, such as home, school, college and work experience providers.

Learners increasingly become more independent, gradually reducing their reliance on travel trainers, parents and carers.

Travelling independently benefits learners in many ways:

  • Increases their confidence and self-worth
  • Gives them greater access to community services
  • Gives them more choice in where they go to college
  • Opens up more work opportunities
