Creative

Our Creative curriculum brings together the subjects of Art, Music and Drama.

These are not individual subjects at West Lea but are combined into one, which is taught from the early years. As learners move up the school we provide them with a wide range of cultural and creative experiences, including opportunities to perform to an audience, which helps to build confidence, self-esteem and a sense of community.

A passion for creative subjects is reinforced in “Drop Days,” when learners don’t follow their typical timetable and, instead, focus on a curriculum area or take part in cultural activities. These ever-popular events include visits by local arts and theatre companies.

Learners also take part in extracurricular creative activities on their campus, including choir, drama and arts clubs.
