Building independence with our
Pupil Passports and Skills Builder programmes
“By the end of year 13, pupils are extremely well prepared for the next phase of their lives after school. They are independent, confident and able to secure either college or work placements.”
– Ofsted
From early years to post 16, learners develop valuable life skills by taking part in two unique programmes:
- Pupil Passports (early years to Key Stage 4)
- Skills Builder (post 16)
These programmes enable learners to build their independence, every day, whether at home, school or in their local community.
The Pupil Passport encourages learners to develop and be rewarded for building skills in 5 core areas:
- Self care and daily living
- Community engagement
- Social and communication skills
- Independent travel skills
- Work skills
Skills Builder is a global programme that we use with our post 16 learners, so they develop 8 essential skills that boost school and workplace outcomes, self-belief and wellbeing:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Problem solving
- Creativity
- Staying positive
- Aiming high
- Leadership
- Teamwork
