Life & Work
Our Life and Work curriculum helps learners to flourish and embrace independence by equipping them with skills for life, further education and employment.
There are 3 key strands, through which we teach the subjects of Design and Technology (D&T) and Catering:
- Looking after myself and my home: which includes learning vital life skills, such as having a healthy lifestyle, cooking and nutrition
- My community and the wider world: which includes being able to travel independently, volunteer in the local community, use community services and practice first aid
- Careers and the world of work: which includes exploring careers, business and enterprise, developing work skills and gaining work experience
Work Experience
Learners in years 10, 11 and post 16 gain valuable work experience with our numerous employer partners.
